Morning.
Lacey and Daylen started school today. Daylen has Laceys teacher from last year, Mrs. Otto and Lacey has Miss Bedford. I'm very excited to hear about their first day back. I probably will hear one solid answers like "fine," "good," and "fun." Then later, Grandma or Nana will call them and all of a sudden they will have at least a 30 min. conversation about what they did in DETAIL :)
This morning Lacey and Daylen woke up without me having to say to them at least 15 times "get up." We had a relaxing morning getting ready for their big day. When breakfast was served - and by served I mean me role playing as their waitress, Lacey explained to Daylen "the ropes" of Sellersville Elementary. For an example, she told him where you can and cannot go for recess. What is off limits in the hallway and she warned him that the pizza line for lunch was going to be extremely long and that he should have patience to eat. I couldn't help but smile the whole time I was getting their stuff together, and pretending like I wasn't listening to their inside conversation...but I totally was.
The Bus
The bus. Daylen's first time. He tried to leave the house to walk down to the bus stop at least 8 times before the actual time. "Daylen, close the door." "Daylen, honey it's not time yet." "Daylen, 5 more minutes." He is persistent. Now, our bus stop, as of last year, was right in front of Hooly's house. Poor Hooly if she was ever trying to sleep in or anyone who lives over that way for that matter because this bus stop is not quiet and calm. Especially, on the first day of school. Well- Hooly...if you are reading this the bus will not be picking up right in front of your house anymore. :)
And they are getting off the bus.....

A journey or 2 will do.
In July 2012, it will mark the 1 year anniversary of Lacey being diagnosed with Stargardts Disease. Since then, we have raised over $15,000 for research between 3 teams. (PA, NV, IN) The support has been amazing and continues to be strong when one of us have a bad day. She has learned braille at school, received a CCTV for her desk, and we are sooo close to her IPAD3 so she can finally read her JunieB books in large print. My family also bought a TV/computer for her room so that she didn't have to stand in front of the TV to see her movies. I am grateful that God gave me Lacey as my daughter. I know she is the reason why I AM where and who I AM. Change is good, and that I am doing.
This weekend we will be driving to Indiana to walk with some of my high school friends. Yes, I went to Oregon Davis High School in Hamlet INdiana and it was a very very small school. I graduated with 50 in my class. I spent 9/10 months in Indiana and 2/3 months in Las Vegas. Two very different places, two very different kinds of people. Indiana will always have special place in my heart and though I am not in that small community anymore, I will always have their "back" in anyway I can. It was a huge chapter of my life for 13 years. One of my favorite childhood friends named Andrea, AKA MONkEY, was going to be walking with my family and I this Saturday but due to her son Caleb being diagnosed with Leukemia just 2 weeks ago, she will not be there. Andrea's situation really really affected me as it did her whole community. I still feel the lump in my throat every time I think about it. Her support system is incredibly strong in numbers and strength and I know that she will never be alone in this horrific situation and THAT makes that big lump easier to swallow. Now, I am traveling to Indiana for my daughter, but also for Mr. Caleb Hoppe. Even though I think about you through-out the day, it will double every mile I am in the state.
To be continued.

ANd I've come to realize...
I am not Mike Mohr. I will never be like Mike Mohr. First of all, Im not a dude. Second, his genetic gene pool does not fill my genetic gene pool, therefore there will be no "laying out" in his pool anytime soon. What do I mean by that??? That means that no matter how hard I work on my fitness, genetically , The Mohr family will win that battle!!!
Now, I know Mike Mohr works out hard. But I also know that Mike Mohr could eat 9 big macs in one food setting and get up and run 9 miles in one hour and be genetically ok! Me... I will stick to eating grass and then run my 9 miles :)
Started reading this book. New Rules of Lifting for Women. (recommended by the beautiful BBM) and can I tell you I have said every word that this author calls "dirty" to Beth in the last 2 weeks and not once has she said..."ah, ah, ah, don't say that." Here they are... bulky, toned, sculpting and shaping. Yep. I have said them all. I don't want to be bulky, I want to be toned, I want to look defined...etc etc allllll to Beth who again, recommended this book. So.. I am on page 7 and I got this book by UPS 45 mins ago. ANNNND I am already blogging. This is going to be good. :)
Here here to the journey of 15 more

A Braille Tale
Lacey is getting better everyday at Braille. I am doing great at writing it, but feeling the braille, I stink!!!! I am improving but she is doing A.W.E.S.O.M.E! Here are two funny stories thus far and im sure many more to come.
Lacey starts out by learning a letter a day. For those who don't know braille, braille has contractions: for an example, L is (... but vertical)is the contraction for Like and when you are reading a sentence, if you come along a single "L" in the sentence it is short for "Like" Hope thats not too confusing. Back to the story- Lacey learns a letter a day. The teacher will ask Lacey, what do you think is the contraction for this letter, and then Lacey will guess what word she thinks would be the contracti0n. Well the teacher got to the letter F. And the teacher said, "ok lacey, what contraction do you think the F word would be?" The teacher said Lacey got big eyed and just stared at her like, do you really want me to say it? I just thought that was HYSTERICAL knowing Lacey's history with this word. I guess the teacher then said..no no no Lacey- there is another word that starts with F like, From? ha ha ha

Another story:
Lacey brought this red Kitchen Aid flimsy matte looking thing home from school. I had idea what it was so I left it in her backpack. David got home and looked into Laceys backpack and said to me, why did they give her a cuttting board? I told him, I dont know maybe she won it or something. He was very excited and started to use it immediately. He must have cut 100 things on it. Lacey (two days later) came home and said, why is my braille holder on the counter? David and I both walked over and said what is this!?? She said it is a matte that holds your braille papaer so it doesnt slide?? OOPS Our bad!

4 years and counting
Papa Oneil just informed that we are starting our fourth year of Bootcamp (drdrillinstructorprogram) ! Currently we are in session 26 and we (Family Oneils and I- along with some other people) started session 11.
Dr. Drill was starting a new branch at the Indian Valley Y and I happened to see his signs all over the front desk Sunday while I was working there. I said to Magic, who was working with me at the time, lets do this!! Lets get up at 530am and workout! She said why not, and waallaaaa the idea was solid!!! I remember coming home and telling David that i was going to do this and he said good luck trying to get up that early. Alarm was set, I had my water packed, an orange and I was ready to go. I slept like crap that night because I was so anxious about getting up and getting there. I had no idea what to expect. All I knew was Magic better be there since she said she was going to do this with me. I didnt even know what Drill looked like. I was going to show up and well-die. :)
I got there and there was a lot of people standing by themselves looking like I did. (A deer in headlights) Some people knew each other already. These people were from Lansdale helping Drill make a stink at IV. (coop, Val, Zimm, Besz, I think slim was there) HUgs were being tossed around and I thought to myself...wow do these people know each other? Then we were called to attention and sweat hit the ground. I was scared, not gonna lie. More scared of screwing up and being called out. I did ok. One time I went to bathroom and was followed shortly by Miss Cathy Cooper aka COOP. Little did she know that one day her and I would be very good friends. After I was done flushing the toilet, I came out of the stall and there she was.
"HI. Are you ok?" Said Coop
With my red face a glowing I said "yes!"
Zimm was there too. He was such a motivator! Still got his email he sent me Jan 9 2009!
My email was to him:
Goal 1.) Keep going no matter how tired I am
Goal 2.) Make sure everyone knows my name and face ..
with this, success in within my reach.
Oh good Lord do they Bee Bach? Do they?! :)
He wrote back:
"By the way Lisa, (who the hell is that?) you are doing great. I love seeing the younger people taking care of themselves, make it away of life and you will enjoy life all the better! Peace, Zimm"
That brings a tear to my eye.
I didnt vomit which is a great thing. My first squad leader ever was Mr. Steve Vincet!!! AKA Ralph!! I guess he did RALPH his first session. Crazy! That session I lost 19lbs and won the Motivation award. Oneil Family won the Heart Award. I will have to ask Coop who HG was!
I have been there ever since. I will always bee there supporting that Program. DDIP'er FOR LIFE
Love it..Changed who I am today in sooooo many ways (another blog later)
Only One Bee Bach :)
