Lacey is getting better everyday at Braille. I am doing great at writing it, but feeling the braille, I stink!!!! I am improving but she is doing A.W.E.S.O.M.E! Here are two funny stories thus far and im sure many more to come.
Lacey starts out by learning a letter a day. For those who don't know braille, braille has contractions: for an example, L is (... but vertical)is the contraction for Like and when you are reading a sentence, if you come along a single "L" in the sentence it is short for "Like" Hope thats not too confusing. Back to the story- Lacey learns a letter a day. The teacher will ask Lacey, what do you think is the contraction for this letter, and then Lacey will guess what word she thinks would be the contracti0n. Well the teacher got to the letter F. And the teacher said, "ok lacey, what contraction do you think the F word would be?" The teacher said Lacey got big eyed and just stared at her like, do you really want me to say it? I just thought that was HYSTERICAL knowing Lacey's history with this word. I guess the teacher then said..no no no Lacey- there is another word that starts with F like, From? ha ha ha

Another story:
Lacey brought this red Kitchen Aid flimsy matte looking thing home from school. I had idea what it was so I left it in her backpack. David got home and looked into Laceys backpack and said to me, why did they give her a cuttting board? I told him, I dont know maybe she won it or something. He was very excited and started to use it immediately. He must have cut 100 things on it. Lacey (two days later) came home and said, why is my braille holder on the counter? David and I both walked over and said what is this!?? She said it is a matte that holds your braille papaer so it doesnt slide?? OOPS Our bad!
